I'd seen this woodland detail on a prior walk with my dog, but no camera, and came back yesterday to make a photograph. The hardest part of all this has been to make the negative scan resemble the print (11x14) which this pretty much does. It's unusual for me because I used an 8.5" exposure @ grade 1.5 plus .5"@ grade 5 with some burning and dodging at grade 1.5. I was trying to convey the light values and their summer sensibility and decided that softer would better obtain that expression.

Beautiful, John. Love the light tonalities, which give a very summery feel.

All the best,
Daniel

Wonderful expressive print. Wouldn't change a thing, I imagine it'll be a fine addition to the portfolio Jon. best,

Beauty. John you nailed the contrast and tonality. I envy that you can make messy scenes look light and fluid.

I'm curious though, you had a 1/2 sec print exposure for the grade 5 split and 8 1/2 sec for the grade 1.5. Those are a bit short and you can run into consistency problems, especially with dodging and burning.

super image ... nice printing strategy , conveys your view very well ...

This is really great Jovo. Love the light airy feel yet some contrast in the interesting tree forms.

I feel the same way as Suzanne. It's a dance of light that's masterfully treated! Wow.
