Dali Temple (2009)

Finally putting together my website, and have been going through a lot (I mean, a LOT) of old negatives.
This is one from an earlier trip to China, in the country's southwest city of Dali. It was rainy, dark and miserable but oddly it worked out beautifully for photos that day.

I quite like that, Colin. The movement among the visitors is great, and I like how you framed it to look very formal. You should definitely print it.

The rain helps a lot with this one. The pattern of dry/wet on the steps is great. At risk of making an overly profound statement--I like the motion of the visitors moving towards the temple. Says something about the ephemeral nature of man.

Nice work Colin! The movement of the people really makes this shot.

Thanks all. I really was lucky with the rain that day, I think it suited the film type I was using and the light was soft and wonderful because of it. I guess it goes to show that what we think is a problem can sometimes be a real blessing.
