Nice shot of what I am sure is a great dog. I had never thought of using a yellow green filter in an animal shot. What has the yellow/green filter done here that gives better tones than, say, an unfiltered shot.
To be quite honest I don't know. I almost always have the yellow-green filter on the camera because it darkens the sky a bit, lightens the foliage slightly, and gives a bit more contrast in the snow in winter. When I see one of the dogs looking especially nice I have to take the shot quickly, and don't have time to fool with the filter. All I can say is it seems to bring out some contrast in her coat, which actually is blonde and white. But I think I'd have to take identical shots in the same light with and without the filter to be sure, and I haven't done that.
The Peruvians believe that a dog that you have been kind to during your life will lead you across the bridge that leads to the afterlife. More dog shots.
