I think I want to play more with this idea. This is 3 overlapped frames with my Holga WPC. 2&1/2 inches by 9 inches. Can't enlarge it, unless I can find someone with an 8x10 enlarger, I'm liking the look of this.
I'm half giggling - mostly with irony. This is lovely. The irony being that I'm not a fan of fuzzy (pinhole) or pano - but this is really neat. Good on ya, Sly. Imaginative use of gear, composition. Its rather a treat to have my biases eclipsed by good skill & imagination. Bravo Sly!
Thanks Silver! I used to shoot with a 4x5 or a Hasselblad and loved my crispy sharp pictures. Then my shoulders gave out on me and a Holga was about the heaviest thing I could carry
for awhile. I'm no longer in constant pain, but I'll never again hike up the mountain with a Crown Graphic, tripod, film holders and all the extras. Now I'm hooked on pinhole. I have to admit to always being drawn to panorama formats. I lusted after a 7x17 camera, but have sadly admitted that my lust will never be requited.
Hi Sly. 'Makes me sad to hear of the heartburn from the shoulder. Sad, but you wouldn't know from your fine images. I've never been able to share the distain for small format either. Bresson, Kertez seemed to be at no handicap from the format. There's a guy in Texas on the LF forum that did shoot large & now only dig. & 35. His 35 would make you cry - its so fine. You can bet any image you load will be opened quickly & with enthusiams. All Best to you & yours, Sly.
