Very very nice!

I like the tonal range in the print. The shallow depth of field helps bring attention to the daffodils. A strong composition. Well done.

You asked for it!!! More crits...
I looked at this the other day. It's a nice exploration, but that is all I find in it.
I find the image with a lot of distracting elements (out of focus stuff) foreground clutter.
Keep shooting. Just not a polished image my eye.

I agree myself. What I'm wondering is if I can lighten the background somehow. Maybe using split-grade filtering, or maybe by dodging/burning techniques. Right now I don't expect any print to be a Masterpiece, just the best that I can possibly do. Unfortunately I am limited by classroom darkroom availability. I' bm in the process of putting a darkroom in my basement though and then I can play more.

What I also try when I shoot flowers is to control the background. That makes the impact and detaches the subject in a good composition. For such a small subject you can use a piece of white or light colored cardboard on the background.
