Had one of these. Pain in the arse, opinionated and stubborn. It took a while but found out we were on the same track. We got along just fine. Had several wonderful years...Oh, nice couple of prints.

Disagree with you about cocker spaniels. They ARE opinionated and stubborn, like you say, but also extremely faithful, clever, happy dogs. AND - the best retrievers, hunters, and great detective. I've always had cocker spaniels, will always have as companions. On the other hand, I would never want a "sweet, dull-eyed, couch-potato" dog. ) Like.....a pekingese? Oh for crying out loud hahahaha
