Cyclecross 1983

Where's the mud? But seriously, here in the northwest (home of some of the greatest American cyclocross racers... we've had a few national champions and some that still compete on the world stage), we have mud and lots of it. Cyclocross isn't cyclocross without muddy run-ups, diagonal roots, crazed fans with cow bells, and mud. Lots of mud. All that being said, this is a very fine photograph... even though it is merely east coast cyclocross. Sniff.
