IIIF and similar Leica viewfinders results with photohraphs which taken with larger format. I spent good time to understand these finders and learned that they are inversted galileo telescopes. The trick with them is the ability to see everything , close or distance in focus and sharp. I never be able to use SLR , May be because of it. I can openly say , I hate japanese lenses and I found them terrible whoever make them but except 50s Nikon Rangefinder lenses. Many people at 50s USA , preferred them to Leitz and they are really excellent. Do your best and try them , Summitar , Summaron , Summar are matchless and the RF Nikons.
thank you, Umut. i will see what i can do. a good example of the 50 color skopar - which i have - is said to give the older leitz lenses a run for their money. i would dearly love to have a well-preserved elmar 50/3.5 ...
I used that 5cm/3.5 Elmar and you can find the examples at my gallery. This kind of lens never produced by japan . I have an Leica Mini Zoom Elmar 35-70 mm and I looked to its mtf graph per 35,50 and 70mm. 35 and 70 is like Sum series and 50 is like Telyt. You dont need invest big money to older Leica lenses , these cameras goes from 40 to 60 dollars and there are EL and SUM versions. Give a try to SUM first , it is velvetly smooth rendering capacity , colors and their pallette changes with light . If light cold , everything fits in this regard and the most 3 dimensional , high and low contrast together cold tones you get.But the light is hot , everything looks like a spanish oil painting , you cant believe the intensity of reds , orange , reds and blacks and the fluorescent colors. Its like two women characters in one woman. Its that complicated and excellent. If you go for it , start with SUM .Best , Umut
