Very cool. I too love the texture, and that curtain really gets me. Nice work, this.

I appreciate the kind comments! Hi Andrew, yep, we're not that far apart. Normally we visit the twin cities at least once a year for judo. (My girls compete.) I'm not sure about this year. I've always wanted to explore up the west coast of Lake Superior. Perhaps we could get together some time and go photographing. Hi Brian, yes, this is the same abandoned house near Wausau, Wisconsin. Both photos were taken about 10 years ago. The curtain is long gone, alas. The film was Tmx, probably in Xtol. I haven't visited it in a few years. I wonder what's left. When I first visited in the mid-1990s, there was still a standing barn, but it's collapsed.

It's amazing how things change. I enjoy photographing this subject matter more than any. There are tons of abandoned houses where I live in PA as well. I'll drive by them all the time and say "I gotta get in there and shoot that sometime." Then all a sudden it's gone and I have regret. It's crazy how long they can stand the test of time and then they dissapear.

I love this image. I am also obsessed by abandoned houses but have very little time to stop and shoot. Kudos to you!
