I wanted to try Kentmere fineprint wt and lith because of the wonderful examples shown here by Marianne and Wolfgang. Continuing to work with my now Bordeaux wine colored developer.
Wolfgang, I have approx. 4 liters of this 32 day old vintage. It stays bottled and tightly capped and cool 20 C . I start each session with a test print that typically takes 12 to 14 minutes. I then add A+B straight 30ml until snatch point is about 6 to 8 minutes. I don't add any additives (mostly because I think my mellow vino would then turn to bitter vinegar ... and fast ! ) . When more than 6 sheets go through I ad 15ml A+B to maintain consistency. I must admit that none of this is scientifically derived. What is real cool is watching large plumbs of black form on the surface of the print in solution just before snatch point. I have to swirl the print to see what's going on. I was simply too damn cheap to pour 4 liters of a somewhat attractive color solution down the drain ! LOL, LOL,
Guillaume I better stray away from making politically sensitive comments about wine thanks, LOL .
That's great, Miles! There is a lot to be said for replenishing your 'soups'. I do it with everything except lith, but I add so much old brown that I might as well have done it your 'burgundy' way... I'll try that next.
Thanks for the inspiration!
