Very impressive and ominous. I might be inclined to crop out the light area on the LHS in order to keep attention in the forest.

I agree with cropping the left side. I feel it could use a little more work to bring out that wonderful light you have captured on the trees. It may be the scan but it seems a little muddy to me. I agree about being able to admire this pic all day.

thank you very much for comments; I tried cropping LHS but for some reason it ruins the balance on the photo- I would not like the tree growing right from the left corner- possibly the best would be to get it right when shooting

The forest has veins. That's what I wanted to say the first time around.
