The result of a walk on the beach on a day with very flat light. The title refers to a word that is carved into the stump.

I don't know what the proper term is, so please bear with me - but the object on my monitor has great 'seperation' from the background elements, almost a three-dimensional effect. Given the flat light that seems very impressive accomplishment.

Thanks George, and thanks marksman too!

It will be interesting to see how this prints in the darkroom.

Good one Matt - You've positioned yourself right in the middle of the field where there's TONS of wiggle room for 'artistic interpretation' of this negative!!

Thanks Murray, and thanks Miles.

First impressions are good but then I notice that the horizon appears to be falling towards the right hand side. I would imagine that this could be corrected in the darkroom and maybe you might add some detail in the sky. I do do like the shot however.
Cheers
