Cooperage - South Australia

I have been wondering what to do with this negative for some time and tried it out here with a salt print. I quite like it although I can't work out if the watercolour paper works or not. It probably has soaked in a little giving it more of a subtle feel which was what I was after but maybe overdone. Rather than coating the paper with gelatin a couple of times and drying the paper before soaking in the salt mix, I placed the gelatin and salt mix together, dried then coated in silver nitrate solution. It may well simply be the paper rather than the process though. Overall I am pretty pleased. Welcome any thoughts.

I like it compared to the B&W scanned version I saw on pbase. My favourite part is how those barrels at the back become misty. I also think that the softness balances the hammer and brand and puts them on the same plane more. Excellent Ewan. K
