I don't mean to be harsh, but I don't find this a very interesting portrait. The model looks bored; at least uninterested. While this may not be the case, this is what I get from looking at her photograph....
The selective focus is ok, and the lighting isn't bad; a bit flat, perhaps. The black line at the top is *very* distracting. It's the first thing I looked at when I saw the image. Are those marks from the film holder? If so, get rid of them...
"And I really like the black metal strip at top -- it's like a blind, ready to be pulled down."
Well, the eye is drawn to areas of high contrast, so naturally your eye goes to the top of the image - away from the portrait. I don't think that the film holder information is the point of the image....
Cover up the black strip, and you'll find that you're drawn more the image. Uncover the black strip, and find where your eye goes. For me, it snaps to the top of the image.
Areas of high contrast near the edge of the frame are often problematic, since you may visually wander off an image, never to return.
Hi all
Thanks for your comment!
This woman is in a live situation which is not so nice and I did many very lovely pictures of here but this sums here sit up.
Have many pictures where the light is better and she smiles but, thad one is the most one which tells here story!
I really like the image and, like Allen, find her a tad mysterious and honestly very sexy!! Honestly in my eyes she is a very attractive woman and I like the image as it is less the border at the top--I like the borders generally on sheetfilm but not this one in particular--it's those funky things on each end-hows that for specific ?
