Composer Philip Glass during the dress rehearsal of his opera Orphee, which Pittsburgh Opera staged last spring (2014). He's the older gentleman, surrounded here by principal performers (in costume!).

Shot on expired (what was I thinking?!) Fujicolor Press 400 film in a Yashica T5. 7x10 RA-4 print is on Fuji Crystal Archive paper.

Wow lucky you! The musician in me is jealous. Did you get to talk to him a bit?

I was in this show, and, yes, I did talk to him a little, although people were swarming him. Even so, he was as congenial in person as the picture suggests -- very forthcoming in talking about his work. Approachable, soft spoken and most humble. Not at all what I expected.

You say "what was I thinking" about the expired film, and yet Instagram et al users go to great lengths to make their pristine originals look like that! It does give it an appropriately "vintage" look...

Perhaps. All things considered, it printed reasonably well. The "what was I thinking" stems more from poor planning on my part. I typically shoot fresh Superia 400, but thought I'd burn a roll of expired film on some casual shooting before opening night. Totally forgot Glass was going to be there that night!
