I first shot this image with a Nikon D700 and Nikon PB-6 bellows and a reversed 55mm f/2.8 Micro Nikkor and then without moving the rig, quickly changed to the F4S and re-shot on film before this little critter warmed back up and started moving around again! I got him just in the nick of time. He flew off about 30 seconds after I got this one image.
Personally I think it stands well above it. The D700 shot is grainless, but the Ektar version has more detail in the shadows (no surprises there). The film shot has more "soul" if you know what I mean.
