Blessed Be

This is not just a blessing-in-waiting for this woman and her partner. I'm blessed - able to return to photography after a month lying on a heating pad and going to physio and the chiropractor. Can't take the 4x5 for a walk yet, but I'm hopeful.....

Not normally a fan of pregnant women but this is very nicely done.

Having had back problems myself and knowing the pain and frustration, I'm pleased you're able to to get active again.

Take it steady

I had months and months when I didn't think I would even be able to take my 5x4 for a walk and wondered gloomily if I would ever be able to do so again.

18 months on and I actually find taking the 5x4 for a walk helps my back - provided I don't get silly about how long and how far

Its a long and sometimes very slow road - so keep going and it will come back - well thats what I keep telling myself

Good luck

Martin

ps - one of the most dignified pregnant shots I have seen in a long time

Great shot... I can also empathize with the back situation. I have to have decompression surgery in the very near future to relieve pressure on my sciatic nerve L5/S1 I have degenerative arthritis with a growth impacting the sciatic nerve.

First, I do hope you get better. I've lost workdays because I couldn't even elevate out of bed, so I know about back pain.

My question: could you say more about your exposure and development techniques?

Thanks for the good wishes. My spouse has had back problems for years. I thought I was being sympathetic before, but now I'll empathize a little better. Thought I'd be immune somehow. Age and bad habits have caught up with me.

Exposure and development straight forward - I rated at 1600, and exposure was around F8, 1/60th (window light). Developed in DDX at 24C for 7 min (time recommended on pkg for 3200 rating). Routine agitation at 30 sec.

Lovely, lovely photo! Wonderful composition !
Believe it or not, I am also suffering from back/leg pain! I have been so depressed from both the 24/7 pain and the difficulty with daily activities. Your stories have given me hope that even if I can't resume tap dancing, I'll at least be able to walk normally again!
