Then the real estate boom hit, coupled with the Whitesnake (Great White?) fire, which resulted in all sorts of knee-jerk laws regarding live music, pyrotechics or no. The mandated sprinkler systems and plumbing basically put live music out of business. This space was marketed as commercial street front and condos up above.
