Darkroom Portraits 2010

On the left the fridge where I keep my films and iodizer. On the right a handy rack where my glass plates are situated, small easels, waste-chems and other stuff.

You shame any darkroom with your organization and layout. If I posted a portrait of my darkroom, it would be the exact opposite of this.

Ha! My darkroom consists of two benches and one shelf. It's located in a basement with cement floor. The windows are covered with plastic and cloth sheets that have velcro on them to prevent light leaks.
The enlarger sits on one bench, my developer trays on the other. I use a 16x20 tray on top of the laundry machine (by the laundry sink) with a siphon in it to wash prints. I process film at the same sink.
I don't think you would believe it if you saw it, that it would be functional and prints could actually be made there.

Yes, this is an amazing set-up. Give me two or three hours, and I could turn it into a garbage can just like mine. Okay, maybe three or four hours.

Thomas, you're velcro solution is brilliant! I still have some small light leaks in there and that would be perfect to get rid of them. Never thought of that (I'm not very practical). The siphon idea is also very smart, should have thought about that a while back.

Thank you all! I love this space very much and I'm lucky my boyfriend didn't mind sacrificing the basement to me. I've had all kinds of different darkrooms over time, my first one was in my tiny bedroom. Closed the windows with garbage bags, no ventilation and spent the nights at my brothers room so I could leave the setup for a couple of days. Washing part was in the bathroom which horrified my mom: "does it really need that much water !"
But, you can do a lot with cramped space.
