Thanks Ian,
at least I could put you 'in the picture' with respect to biking and give you a glimpse how it feels!

Careful or your next shot will be of the EMTs picking you up off the road  I'm putting my bike, an '85 BMW, back on the road next week after a 5 year hiatus. My wife an I are looking forward to it!

Tom,
one of my dreams is a bike tour with my girlfriend through the States!

if we ever make it, are you up for a tour?

I'm really fascinated by this shot for some reason. There are many shots taken from moving vehicles but this one really captivates me. I think the amount of motion blur is perfect. Enough blur on the sides to show speed of travel but the center of the horizon is frozen enough to provide a great visual perspective. I also think the composition of the handle bars and instrument cluster is perfect. Very Nice.

Alien: A co-worker of mine, from a few years ago, went on a tour...they called it "The Iron Butt Ralley", for obvious reasons...they took a circuitous route, which included much of the southwest; which was reportedly quite memorable.

He said that it was a terrific way to see the country. However, it was a trek that he would not look forward to making for quite a few years afterward. Me thinks the pain outweighed the gain...He said that many of his co-riders did not complete their journey due to numerous mechanical issues that they were not prepared to meet.

Oh, I almost forgot...Great Photo!

How did you trip the shutter? Or, shouldn't I ask???

HI Joeyk049!

I am not riding the bike myself I had my girlfriend ride it whilst I am on the rear seat!
I then held the camera in front of her, and I had both my hands free for the shot!
So no magic, and not even unsafe...

Iam glad you like it!

The way the whole picture meets in the center (bike, road, landscape, clouds), the great motion people have mentioned and the fact you shot it with slow PanF while both of your hands are visible its amazing! I love the mood of the sky as well.
