Like the prow of a ship, this far-flung corner of N. Lancashire juts into Yorkshire, giving the strange folk of that county an ever-present, if time worn, reminder just who won the war of the Roses ;)

Fordors? I thought that was 'Bored of the rings' !
 
I'll bet there won't be many roses growing up there! Interesting shot as the dykes (walls for non-UK folks) give a sort of reversed vanishing point which works well.
 
Did any one win? It lasted for over 100 years! Henry 6 lost for sure, so did Richard 3rd, Old Hump Back, according to Bill Shakespeare.... no winners; only survivors!
