I made it out of focus deliberately, except for the mailbox. But I guess maybe I should have used a deeper range of focus. Thanks for the input.

No, not necessarily more DOF. I really love that aspect of your photo, along with the wonky lines of the cabin vs. the vertical mailbox. And I like how the highlights are apearing on my monitor but I suspect that you'd want to have a little bit of tone in them on the print. My eye is searching a bit for a focal point and I know its the mailbox because of the DOF but the tones in its door and its post are too similar to the wall and I'm being distracted a little by the round object on the left. Perhaps of you upped the contrast a bit to bring more darks into the points of interest... There's a lot of potential here.
