The goalie of my niece's soccer team is a tough girl. I can't help thinking teenage girls shouldn't look this mean when their lives aren't being threatened.

Really good shot there. With a mirror lens stuck on f8 and that light, you would be running around 1/250 at the most, really made the ball look good.

I would suggest the composition really looks better with the dark section at the very top cropped out, it may even look a bit better again with the far right black wheel cropped as well.

Just love the expression, she certainly is focused!

I've always been so tickled that I got this shot at all (it's from my very first roll of traditional B&W) that I never much thought about cropping. Now that you mention it though, I think your observations are right. Maybe update it on the morrow.
