Mind The Bus

some years ago i was standing at the bus stop and a bird was in the gutter scavenging about. well the bus pulled out from the curb, the bird didnt move and this is what resulted. So i shot it while it died. I guess the moral is mind the bus.

I get to endure a lot of close ups of road kill when riding a bicycle, something you don't quite get to experience when riding the very vehicle that created them or even on foot where you have more of a chance to avoid the spectacle up close. They make me very sad as they are usually kittens and sometimes puppies. Often I have thought to photograph one to share my misery of being a witness to it, but it would be limited to the shock value and thus not much value at all.
If you move further from the first shock and disgust you may notice the "expression" of pain and death upon the creature and may even admire the colors and tones and shapes. But most often it will just remain as an illustration of a "road kill" as it would be a very rare circumstance that it is investigated further.

The irridescent blue of the wings and color of the bill tells me this isn't a crow. Do you know what the bird was?
