An interesting shot, not so much for her various alterations but just the care given to what could easily be just a party snap. It's a real portrait; I'm not sure anything is actually revealed about this person but at the least it seems as if her various artifices are not allowed to dominate as much (hope that makes at least a little sense)
You make sense Colin. It's a very different kind of shot then what I normally do. Me and a couple photographer friends were at a shoot in a studio/art gallery. Afterward, a party was going to be held so we stuck around, placed a strobe diagonally facing a couch against a white wall, and for about an hour or so, simply took portraits of people who either came to us for a picture, or people we picked out of the crowds to come over. I used my RZ mostly hand held (including this shot) my other friend shot Polaroids with her RB67 and her friend used a Canon DSLR. We had to share the one cord to fire the strobe. I'll post some more since I only had time to print this one and one other. It was a lot of fun; I'm glad I stuck around after the "official" shoot which I was not participating in.
