Skiddaw From Kettlewell

Skiddaw From Kettlewell

A lovely dawn glow on the shapely flanks of Skiddaw at the far end of Derwent Water in the Lake District. The duck in the middle distance was soon followed by two very large swans who swooped down and nearly soaked my camera with their splashing!

Very nice! You make me want to be there!

Keith, I actually cropped some off the bottom. I'd tried to capture more of the foreground which had leaves beneath the surface of the water but when I looked at the final print it just created a dark weight to what is otherwise a bright and balanced image. I agree that some more sky wouldn't hurt but when I composed the shot I was looking at the potential of the foreground! Lesson learned.
