I am surprised to see such a strong blue cast on the background, which was black paper actually.
Could it be the underexposed Ektar? The lab processing? The scanning?
I love it, just wondering...

I wish I knew. I seem to remember notes of Ektar working best in broad daylight, while at the extremes of day it may have a color cast. I wonder if you shot in natural light or artificial? Just a thought, as I don't know where that thought would lead.

But I do love that shimmering highlight. I like the 'weight' of your photograph and the composition. The whole series is phenomenal, but this to me is most symbolic of ballet dancing.
