Given that my last name is Rose and it's a brewery, I was immediately drawn to this place. That and their beer is REALLY good!. Anyway I was there one day cooling off and asked if I could have a quick tour of the actual brewery. They were quite happy to oblige and in fact were quite proud of their facility.
Once I saw what they had and being the magpie that I am, that is to say attracted to shiny objects, I asked if it would be ok to bring a camera and photograph the place. After much consternation and consultation amongst the higher ups they agreed.
Last week I went back with the 4x5 Cambo and 5 two bangers loaded up with Efke PL100. I exposed 8 sheets of film and am quite happy with a few of them. A return trip will have to be planned. Naturally I had to do the group photo of the "crew". I explained that I didn't really have the proper gear for a people photo but would give it a go. The exposure was 1 sec at f8!
This particular shot was a tough one as it was next to some windows that had lots of afternoon light streaming through. The SBR was a whooping 13. I rated the film at 20 asa and did the quickest semi-stand development ever.
This print is practically a straight print from the neg. Great detail in the deep shadows and the highlights were retained. My crappy $30 scanner doesn't really do it justice.
