George Washington Bridge: Mixed Media Piece

trying my hand again mixing traditional silver prints with encaustic and oil paints. This one is 44"x44" and will be displayed in Hudson NY at The Cannonball Factory during Artswalk 2009 10/9-10/19. The encaustic (honey scented bees wax) is fused to the photo adding depth and luminosity to the paper. Oil stick is layered on the shadows and fused to the wax. The wax can be incised and etched and reworked forever.

Thanks for the feedback. I think what I like most about this is that our little girl was born in those buildings to the left of the east bridge tower and that we were walking our 2 old dogs (now gone) when I took it

I know a local artist who works in encaustic. It's a wonderful process!!!
This piece looks very cool.
