Hi Andrew, this is my 1st attempt on matt surface. I'm loosing a bit in the scan but I like the surface . You are spot on about my attempt to capture the soft and delicate tonality of the Japanese maple branch and the ceramic basin. Thanks for your comment.

I like the mix of textures, Miles! The 131 is wonderful paper, is it not? You certainly made good use of it.
 
Hi Thomas, Yes Foma 131 is what I'm growing up on. It is easy to get a lot of color with but you have wrestle it a little to get deep blacks. Wolfgang's two bath technique helps. I have be 'sperimentin with Forte(not much left :sad: ) and Kentmere fineprint . So far Foma 131 most versatile for my use.
