Harry Packer Mansion

Overlooking the town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Harry was the son of Asa Packer. His dad was the founder of Lehigh University after achieving considerable success in railroads and mining. He had this house built for Harry as a wedding gift! The town is the county seat of Carbon County and during the 1860s, its residents included a dozen millionaires. The town contains quite few interesting structures. The town changed its name from "Mauch Chunk" in the 1950s in hopes that honoring the legendary native American athlete would help boost tourism after mining had declined.

Found myself here as an accidental tourist, having driven too far in search of dinner. So, since I did have the Perkeo, it got used, although it was totally the wrong time of day to catch the "good light." My first roll of Neopan 400, and it looks worthy of more experimentation.
