Haarlem By Night

Warehouse along Bakenessergracht canal, Haarlem

Help me make a decision... It doesn't happen often to me, but I just can not make up my mind between these two versions.

Besides the small difference in toning, the main difference is in the upper right corner. I have burned in the top right part here more, but maybe a bit to much, losing a bit of the atmosphere of a strong light???

Another difference is that the windows hatch received a bit less exposure than in the other version, which I slightly prefer.

But what do you think?

Excellent, love the detail and great range of tones. I love this one better.

I think the more open shadows does the scene more justice in this as opposed to the other example. Either way, excellent!

I'd have to say this one. I don't think the burn takes anything away, I think it just the right touch. I love the lit windows down the alley way! Excellent photograph!

Thanks all!

Yes, I had a very slight preference for this one too. But putting them side-by-side kept swaying me back and forth...

Just after I finished shooting at this spot, the lights went off in the building, it was already getting late... The scene changed dramatically, as the subtle light through these windows at the side of the warehouse is essential for the shot. I was lucky to get it.
