An oft photographed scene but still one to enjoy.
This was an experimental shot. We were in the area for a walk and I knew I wouldn't be in this position in the evening when I could use a long exposure to add some mystery to the scene and seeing the clouds making a nice shape I decided to take several shots on the one frame.
On the first frame I didn't work out how when to switch the multi-exposure switch back to the normal position and under-exposed the frame by 1/8 second having taken three 1/8 second exposures instead of the required 4. On the second frame I managed to make the same mistake! And then on the third, as I waited for the waves to be in the right place for the fourth exposure, a group of people came and stood and began playing a few feet in front of the camera! So all three frames were underexposed by 1/8 second.
To try and rescue the photo I applied ferrycyanide bleach to various areas using a brush. The results are passably acceptable but the foreground as a whole is dark and lacking in contrast.
Still, I'll be interested in your views.
