Victorian

Nice (Italianate?) Victorian home in a nearby town. Aside from being slightly out of focus (during printing), what could I have done better here?

Looks like you have some lines on the right and a wee bit of water spot on the right. It's tough to get that stuff off.... as for the contrast, I like it...the first thing I noticed was that you had great detail in the shadows...which is really tough to get sometimes. I'd burn in the left sky just a tad.

Janette: You're right about the water and scratches...I was too careless when the negs came out of rinse...should have used photoflow...

I may try your suggestion for the sky when I get back to printing this again.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

Joe

I know this house! My wife lived in Hackettstown for 25 years and I used to pass right by here on the way to her house (that was many moons ago). Try re-washing the negs to get rid of the water spots and stop at Shutterbug Ed's and pick up some Edwal No-Scratch. Coat the base side of the film with the No-Scratch and reprint. Make sure you use a good film cleaner to get the goo off the neg before you put it back in the sleeve though.
