Haha, trust Kal to comment on bokeh He is an expert on this, check out his work and you'll see why it's important. What he probably means is that the portions that are out of focus (OOF) are nicely rendered. Sometimes OOF elements have sharp edges or are too prominent in the image... here they look smooth and tend to lend emphasis to the in-focus subject, rather than detract. OOF rendering is one of the things that is mostly a characteristic of the lens... however there are some darkroom tricks that can be done.
