Peter Iredale

Off the coast in NorthWestern Oregon you can find this shipwreck of what used to be 'Peter Iredale'. I can't remember the exact story of this ship, as there are some 200 wrecks off the coast where the Columbia river pours into the Pacific Ocean. But it's famous, and you can walk up to it. I had to compose the image this way, because there were cars lined up behind it. You're actually allowed to drive on this stretch of beach, which is a shame. There would have been more creative freedom without that element, but how can you not show a landmark such as this? :)

Thank you for looking! Hope you like.

That is wonderful Thomas. I like the split tone, and the silhouette is wonderfully full of mystery. I rasied a question on the forum today about how Lith works with something like Viradon Brown Toner...will it behave similarly to Bleach followed by Sepia/then selenium?...I guess I am wondering if Brown Toner works with Lith...Best, K

Thanks guys, I have a series going from my trip to Oregon, where a lot of it is from the ocean front. I'm slowly working my way through about 14 rolls of 36 exposures each...
Kal - I don't know. I know Bob Carnie at Elevator does up to quad tones, but I don't know how bleach works for the sepia after you brown tone it. I think trial and error is how you find out. If it were me, I'd probably try bleach+sepia first, then brown, and finally selenium. A wild guess, only as good as the next guy's...

I really like Holga and 35mm shots with Lith. I think the "lower Quality" and smaller format like 35mm cameras add something special to the Lith as opposed to 4x5 and 8x10 and even Medium format. I really enjoy your 35mm shots.

This is one of my favorites, perfectly composed in my opinion. great job.For me a great photograph keeps you lookin at it without thinking why.
