McDavid Portrait #1

5x7 Wet plate collodion black glass ambrotype

I've really never even tried portraiture.
Lately I've been really wanting to try it out, do something a little different, branch out some.... and when it comes to Wet Plate, it seems mandatory to do at least some portraiture, as the process lends itself so well to it.

I spent saturday afternoon at my best friend Mark's place down in San Antonio shooting some plates of him.
He is an avid and extremely talented mandolin/bouzouki/guitar/singer/songwriter.

Given that this is my first attempt at portraiture, I'd greatly appreciate any comments/thoughts/critiques

Alamo Heights - San Antonio, TX

Matt, this is really good. It's great to see you testing some new waters. Like you, I rarely did portraits before I was an ether-head. Now, I love it. One question, what's a dude named McDavid doing playing the Bouzouki? Yas'sou!
