MV, i am not usre. i would say no, they print similarly. IMO some people make the mistake of creating a denser neg for alt process. you need more contrast not density. if you create a denser neg all that equates to is longer printing times.
with that said. i shoot with a friend all the time and his negs are always slightly denser (with silver process also). we both get nice prints. he just prefers his negs slightly denser. so it comes down to shooting, metering, developing, and printing styles.
OH! i would like to add that i also shot some HP5 negs. i developed them in hc110. i printed some in VDB and the printing times were 6 min. the negs look like they have about the same density so go figure.
