Vincent, I loaded an 8x10 film holder with a sheet of Ilford MGIV RC paper and exposed it in an 8x10 camera. Enlarging paper is relatively slow so I calculated the exposure based on an ASA ~4, adding extra exposure for a yellow filter on the lens to reduce contrast. The paper was processed normally and when dried contact printed. This was just an inexpensive way to test out my system without burning through more expensive 8x10 film. The results were quite pleasing on their own.
