Salisbury Cathedral Cloister

Salisbury Cathedral Cloister

Took an old Zeiss Ikon Nettar 6x6cm folder for a walk around Salisbury Cathedral. The negative is horrendously underexposed (at least 3 stops - or more - really must remember to take a meter next time...) but at least shows the latitude available with Delta 400...

looks good to me. AStuff like this is always shown light and bright. This is a different take.

The most interesting and intriguing image I have seen of Salisbury Cathedral Bob. It has a lovely feel to it and no tourists!
Although Salisbury is quite close to me, I haven't made the effort to date and now realise that I must.

Cheers guys: I would like it a bit more contrast, but due to the thin/low contrast neg, I hit the bumpers at grade 5. Might try selenium on the neg...

"no tourists!" - One of the advantages of going in January  Did get some strange looks from passing digicam users - doncha just love it when someone whips out a P&S digicam and the flash fires, trying to light up the exterior of a building half the size of Belgium...

The problem at the moment (and for a few years to come) is that the outside of the cathedral is intermittantly decked with scaffolding due to repairs which rather spoils most exterior aspects... Great spire tho - still standing after 700+ years...
