Thanks very much. I'm really enjoying this project. It's a fast one, too, because 1) these people are like clockwork in the bar, so I know exactly when I can catch them, and 2) they're all buzzed, so they're (mostly) willing victims. Works out well for all.
Dave, I'm definitely a one camera/one lens shooter. I'm extremely ADD (an official diagnosis) so I avoid the distractions of excessive gear. I have other lenses, but I don't use them unless I'm in a very unusual shooting situation. For me, simple is best. One subject, one camera, one lens, one light source.
Cheryl...I'd like to start off by saying this entire series is truly amazing and something I'd aspire to in portraiture. On the bad note, why is this the only photo that looks like there's some shutter vibes or something? All your other photos have precise focusing and are switch-blade sharp and this one seems to be off a little. It might just be me being picky 'cause all your other photos from this series are seemingly more in focus.
I think you have a unique situation here with photographing people in the tavern, you should run with it and grab every interesting face that walks thru that door........look forward to seeing more.
