'Homage'

Just finished teaching two students who came to my platinum workshop. One came with some 4x5 negs he specifically made two weeks ago at Wells Cathedral for the workshop, he honestly had never seen the sea of steps and said that when you get to the cathedral this is the most obvious place to take a photograph. He does not have an account(Mark Brickley) but I told him to join up. This was his third attempt at printing the neg and I think he nailed it and I thought I had to post it. Exposure was 3 half mins, Potassium oxalate @ 65, 3:1 Palladium/Platinum on Arches Platinue.

I remember when I visited Wells Cathedral, I'd forgotten that it was the location of Evans' famous photograph and had a pleasant surprise when I found the steps. I sent the photograph out in an APUG postcard exchange. Evans seems to have been standing quite high up using a long lens to have gotten the view that he did. I was amused by the warning sign advising visitors to be careful of the very worn steps.

Yes, he nailed it, beautiful print.
