Thanks for all the comments. Jim, I'm jealous! I have the same old upright that I learned on starting at three years of age -- complete with the broken music rack where I kicked it in frustration.

Leitz, actually the image is perfectly in focus. It's just heavily diffused. So, yes, I do know how to turn the focus lens -- as well as how to secure a ziploc bag to it with a state-of-the-art rubberband. It's highly technical.

Cheryl, a friend sent me the link to your photo. Thanks for posting it. I love the shadow and light play. Also, it is just abstract enough to invoke our imagination. BTW, what was your light source?
