Lance's Barn before Destruction

Lance's Barn before Destruction

A small barn on my cousin's place that had seen its better days. He was telling me of its impending demise when I noticed a photo begging to be taken.

The "Dutch tilt" on the camera was applied deliberately. I was tired of seeing straight horizontals and verticals.

Taken with the 7x17. A couple inches trimmed off each end due to light leaks.

Comments and criticisms always welcome.

Good photo Alex. Seems to me I've seen that wood before. :D Did I?

I love the texture. One of yours is sitting here in a prominent position. Thanks.

nice Alex. I like the dutch tilt. seems very fitting.

Alex on my screen the timber is too dark, thus losing the nice grain detail that is just visable. Maybe a harder grade or shorter printing time ?

Cheers

Thanks to everyone. I picked up the term "Dutch Tilt" from a cinematography book that I recently read. Seems it was a common term in the movie industry so I decided to apply it here.

Vince, I replaced the scan with (perhaps) a better one. I hate the variance in computer monitors. Despite claims to the contrary, everyone of them is different.

Alex this is a far superior print or scan where the the detail and beauty of the the grain comes to the fore.

Cheers
