Corner of a 1761 barn at a local historical site which is a favorite testing ground.
And yes, this is from a print (even if I had trouble making it look any more like the print than an earlier negative scan). :-)
A viewer who has seen this liked the hint of encroaching suburbia in the left background.
I'm always astonished at the sense of homecoming I feel whenever I cross into eastern Pennsylvania. I'm from a suburb of Philadelphia, but there is a commonality to the kind of building that your photo depicts that I inevitably respond to emotionally when I'm there. So...despite the longwinded introduction, I want to tell you I admire this photograph, and your choice of "color" that makes it even more vividly communicative to me.
Amazing impact and glow to this print. It screams contrast and sharpness like few others I've seen. Folding camera? I seem to remember the Perkeo being a Voigtlander. Nice work!
It's difficult to make this sound sensible but on my monitor it's not the usual warmtone look. While it is warm, it also has just the merest hint of green/grey which brings out the stoney and wood effect so very well. This has been ineloquently expressed in words by me but is very eloquent expressed by you in the print.
