Experimental toning. I'm intrigued by the blue/sepia toning used by Bill Rowlinson (reproduced in Tim Rudman's toning book). So I had to try it.
It didn't work. I didn't get the Sabatier effect even after an hour in blue toner with constant agitation. Maybe I'll try redevelop and retone for a couple of cycles next time.
Anyway, this is a consolation prize. It's printed on Ilford postcard stock (and in fact is one of the cards I used in a previous postcard exchange).
Toned in Tetenal blue toner for 20 min, followed by redeveloping in Multigrade 1+9, followed by 6 min in the blue toner, redeveloped again, followed by 20 min in blue toner. Then 6 min in very dilute (1/10 th of recommended dilution) Tetenal Triponal (sepia toner).
The sepia tones in the scan aren't as rich as the print ... :(
