St. Michael's Mount

That is a very beautiful image. But following Michael Kenna's footsteps at Mont St Micheal has got to be even harder than shooting 8x10 in sand dunes in EW and AA's footsteps.

Dennis, Thanks... I'd not been aware of Kenna's documenting of Mont St. Michel.... Not sure if I am following in his footsteps either... Everythinbg has been done before, this place I was at is no exception.... Just putting my spin on it with the light I had at my disposal. Not trying to emulate anyone.

You didn't follow in Kenna's footsteps, he photographed Mount St. Micheal in Normandy France...

I live just at 45min of the Mont st michel and even if I saw a lot of phootography of this plae this one is really nnice

I didn't mean any disrespect or to thumb down the image. I was merely saying that when there is such a famous body of work done on a subject it is hard to find or keep your own vision. I think it is still worthwhile to do. Recently shooting sand dunes it took me a couple days to take one photo because I kept seeing EW and AA photos. Eventually I found my vision. I would love to go photograph Mont St Michel. Then I could also visit Chris Nze

I like this photo a lot. I think I'd like it more cropped to a pano, though. As usual, I'm sure most will disagree with me on that statement...

Beautiful texture in all of the dark values, and that image of the sun really makes the photograph for me. Very very nice, Andy!

Its not the usual treatment but I think the dramatic lighting works a treat.
