As a straight portrait without any background information, I think this is terrific. He has a great expression on his face. What is peculiar is those 2 highlights coming down from his shoulders. After viewing his face which is most striking the eyes are inclined to rest on these.

The highlights on the shoulders are his tan lines. I think if I make a fine print from this neg someday I will tone that down a bit they are distracting I agree.
Your right on the eyes, I have to concentrate on finding subjects with eyes that speak! I will be going back to Asia to continue the series in 2009.
