Orchid detail

Another black glass ambrotype from the other day.
I bought some flowers at central market and the florist gave me these orchids as they were about to die apparently. They seemed prime for some wet plate collodion.
This is a pretty small plate... 4.5" x 6" on black glass using an old 5x7 tailboard camera.
Location
porch
Equipment Used
5x7 and a 150mm G Claron

Very nice Matt. Flowers appear to be perfect for this medium. You should consider a wet plate "floral" project" and purchase as many different types as you can.

another nice one matt!
I've noticed a recurring set of flow marks on your plates. Not that it detracts but was wondering if you know how they are getting there. They seem to always be on one side flowing on the vertical.

Dinesh, I'll go out right now and buy a huge supply of exotic florals.
Scott, I can't figure it out either. I'm thinking it might be how I'm pouring the developer on. Not sure though. I'm gonna make some more plates today and see if I can figure it out.

nice work!

are you using a tray or an upright bath for your silver bath? i was getting similar lines caused by the silver being in a tray and making a wave as i "chucked" it into the tray. i have gotten better on my throws so now they seem to be a bit better. keep us posted on what you find out.
