Lime Kiln - Little Things

6x6cm silver chloride contact print

I went looking for Hell's Hollow Falls and found the lime kiln next to it, and the way the light was shining into it, even more exciting. There was a very steep stair case leading to the water directly behind me so I was happy to have my new 50mm. I just set the camera up almost inside the hole in the bottom of the kiln and came up with this composition. Semi-stand development, Grade two Azo, and a water bath kept the contrast in check.

it took me a few views to get the full perspective with this composition... which is very interesting ..... the range of this image is quite impressive also ... all in all a great photograph Shawn...... its fun looking at images that are so dimensional ...
